1st Four Poses.
Students had four A4 sheets. They made
two dark with a surface of charcoal.
Students stood and stretched their arms
to feel the tension in their bodies. They
expressed the stretching feeling in their
first drawing.
In the next three sheets students swiftly
worked from the life-model who made a
series of poses. Each student and the
tutor gave, in turn, instructions to the
whole group on ways of using their
materials (e.g. emphasise deep shadow;
include what you can see beyond the figure).
Charcoal & 2 colours of chalk. A3 sheets.
