Mark Making Exercise
Students responded to descriptive words and phrases (e.g. big black triangle). This was to encourage ways of making marks and to think how these might be applied to drawing a figure.
It challenged students to think more deeply about what they are looking for when making an observational figure drawing. They were encouraged to move beyond a filled-in outline as most had tended to do initially.
