Pattern & Rhythm

Students looked at black-and-white photocopies of paintings. They explored the patterns of light and dark, and the rhythms of overlapping figures.

The students incorporated what they learnt as background in the work of the previous exercise. The figures in the previous work were then reworked with stronger marks, giving consideration to the environment they now occupied.
