Figures and Movement. Year 9. KS3. William de Ferrers School.
Figures and Movement.

Year 9 students explored the work of Futurist
artists and how they created a feeling of
energy and dynamism through the use of line,
repeated overlapping shapes and the vibrant
use of colour.

Students drew images onto acetate sheets
from pictures of action and sporting figures.

They were encouraged to overlap and repeat
shapes. They used flowing, dynamic lines to
fragment space and create a sense of
movement in their work.

These images were projected and drawn onto
A1 size sheets of paper. They were completed
with oil pastel, focusing on hot and cold colours.
