Clay gargoyles.
Four Year 8 groups explored the
culture of the Green Man and the
practical and spiritual function of
gargoyles in medieval architecture.
They developed their own ideas
into "grotesque" faces using clay.
Their humorous and dramatic facial
expressions were inspired by
images of real gargoyles.
A related homework was to
carve soap into a gargoyle face.
The classwork was extended into
a mechanical face.
