Students developed their understanding of
American Indian culture by experiencing a
ceremony based on traditional ideas.
Students listened to American Indian
chanting and were "smudged" to dispel
impure spirits. They then completed a
visualisation and totem animal discovery.
This provided a starting point for their clay
designs. The work was completed using
traditional American Indian colours.
Students also did a related homework.
