Arts week.
Purleigh Community Primary School.
KS1 & KS2. Years 1 to 6. Spring 2006.
Purleigh Community Primary School asked Julia Stubbs
for help with the development of ideas and practical
skills for their forthcoming whole-school Arts Week.
The theme was ''India'', with the hope that Maths
would feature in some of the activities.
Julia led two staff sessions: one to brainstorm ideas
for activities and a second practical workshop where
staff had opportunities to do printing and batik.
Outcomes of the Arts Week included panels for
Shamiana tents; Mehndi designs stitched onto fabric
and painted onto plaster casts of pupils hand and feet;
Rangoli patterns; and printing from exotic fruits.
