The Real Me. An exhibition of images
by and about young people in Essex schools.
Human beings have made self-portraits since the dawn of time and most of us will have found
ourselves doing them at different stages as we grow up. This exhibition is an attempt to capture
the wonderful range of work around this theme in Essex schools. Examples range from the earliest
explorations using lines, shapes and colours by children in nursery settings to complex statements about
feelings and emotions by 'A' level students in secondary schools.
The work was displayed in the atrium of Chelmsford Library, Essex in November 2006.
