Project Structure.
Day 1
Warm up activity. Drama exercises in using the body to make one's name in letters, moving in pairs and then letters in a repeated sequence.
A drawing, colour and mark-making exercise.
Dancers from year 10 performed whilst the drawers watched. A second performance was held with the drawers responding. A third performance was done with some dancers in butcher's muslin, with drawers responding.
Students split into five groups for their practical activities. Each group had a theme and a pack of resources to help them get started. Each group had representatives from all year groups and primary school students. They were led by sixth-formers.
Students worked independently and collaboratively in their groups, making their own decisions about the development of the work and their choice of materials.
The dancers practiced around the school and created their own original dances. They performed these at the end of the day, first in pairs then as a group.
Day 2
Warm up activity. Drama exercises in word association, words and visual imagery, words expressed physically, the meaning of body language modified by words, "I want my rent money - I can't pay", the same with less words and quicker, and finally where the repitition of words begins to lose meaning.
Students split into their five groups for the second day of practical activities.
Groups present their work to each other in the main hall.
The presentation of certificates to all participating students.
