Themed Resource Packs.

Students were given resource packs that featured images and ideas related to their theme:

  • Mind Mapping.

    Surrealists – Andre Masson, Jean Arp, automatic drawing, exquisite corpse drawing - Jake and Dinos Chapman, ink blots, word games, collage, etc.

  • Line and Colour.

    Jim Lambie, Sarah Morris, Julie Mehretu, Simon Patterson.

  • Communication.

    Visible and Invisible, white noise/disturbance/sonar/radar – Fiona Rae.

  • Astrology and Phrenology.

    Signs of the Zodiac, celestial maps, Anselm Kiefer (Heaven and Earth), functions of the brain, the four humours.





  • Signs and Symbols.

    Aboriginal Art, Graffiti, road signs.

  • Astronomy.

    Our place in the universe, structures of planets, images of solar systems, surfaces of planets, etc.

  • People and Places.

    Maps of the local area – Grayson Perry’s “Map of an Englishman”, ancient world maps.

  • Anatomy.

    Anatomical drawings and engravings, Leonardo da Vinci, Damian Hirst, the human body – dissections of Gunther von Hagens, microscopic photographs of cell structures.
