Project Structure.

Day 1

The human body was the focus and starting point for the work.

There was a dance performance with lighting, which the students responded to during warm up drawing activities.

Bodies of the dancers became templates which were transferred onto working surfaces.

Students worked in 8 groups with representatives from all year groups and primary school students in each one.

Each group had a theme and a pack of resources to help them get started.

Students worked independently and collaboratively in their groups, making their own decisions about the development of the work and their choice of materials.

Day 2

Warm up and “refocus” activities using all groups resource packs and a variety of dry media to work on A1 paper. Students exchanged resources and drawings throughout the activity.

Groups evaluated their own large scale work in progress, listing key areas for the second day’s focus.

Groups also evaluated each others work and added constructive comments to the lists.

Groups resumed work, making use of the constructive comments.

As work was finished, it was taken to the main hall and attached to display boards for students to see.

Plenary and presentation of certificates to all participating students.
